A color painting of the SS Manhattan postcard on linnen type card stock. The card is used and posted through Balboa Sept. 21 1940 Canal Zone with a 1 cent Canal Zone postage stamp. This card is uniqe in the fact that it has a red inked stamp under the normal description of the vessel stating that the Manhattan and Washington have been temporarily transferred to the New York-Genoa-Naples route due to the Neutrality act. The world was at war once more.
