The SS George Washington painted in US Lines colors in the drydock at the Boston Navy Yard. This vessel was originally the SS George Washington of the North German Lloyd line. Siezed by the US government upon entrance into WW I the G.W. transported our boys over there prior to becoming a US Lines passenger vessel.
