Resurrecting the SS France
In 1/450 scale (1/500)
Another model project in scale using the Glenco Kit as the base for an accurate model of the SS France. This kit has never been my favorite of this ship since it has many defects in design and representation. After close examination and measurements I have determined the scale is closer to 1/500 than the scale quoted by Glenco. My goal is to remedy all of the design flaws for a large mantel piece model. Follow along as I construct and finish a model which any collector would be proud to display. Compare this model with the wooden knock offs on ebay and I'm sure you will agree when I say it was well worth the effort.

The completed model measures 24.5 inches long.

Check out what I did with the last Glenco model of the SS France, after it was attacked by squirrels that had gained access to my studio, on the "Building Normandie" page.
